Consumer Counselling Centre supported by Department of Food Supplies and Consumer awareness, Govt. of Odisha
With the support of the Food & Civil Supplies Department, WOSCA managed a Consumer Counselling Centre at the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum in Keonjhar. The centre worked to protect consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, offering quick remedies to consumers facing unfair trade practices, deficiencies in services, or hazardous goods.
Over the years, WOSCA facilitated the disposal of complaint and execution cases, organized consumer awareness programmes for rural communities, and sensitized consumers on ethical and legal obligations of businesses. The initiative strengthened the institutional setup of consumer dispute redressal by acting as a bridge between consumers and the forum, empowering rural households to demand fair practices and transparency.
