Integrated Nutrition and Health Project (INHP) in Keonjhar District (2003–2011)

Consumer Counselling Centre supported by Department of Food Supplies and Consumer awareness, Govt. of Odisha

WOSCA implemented the Integrated Nutrition & Health across 50 demonstration sites (selected vulnerable villages ) in Keonjhar district to improve the nutrition and health of women and children (0–6 years). The project introduced best practices in maternal and child care, strengthened immunization services, and promoted safe delivery practices.
It reached around 13,000 pregnant and lactating mothers and 50,000 children, ensured 75% of children completed full immunization within one year, and capacitated frontline workers on health and nutrition interventions. Health issues were integrated into SHG meetings, and service gaps were addressed through advocacy, resulting in stronger community‑level health systems.
