Focused Area Development Program(FADP)

The Focused Area Development Project, with the support of ITDA, Keonjhar, is driving sustainable transformation in rural communities by prioritizing natural resource management, land and water conservation, and sustainable agriculture. The program aims to enhance food and livelihood security, ensuring long-term resilience for vulnerable households.

With ITDA’s backing, WOSCA, as a Facilitating NGO (FNGO), is leading the project across nine blocks in Keonjhar District—Ghatgaon, Harichandanpur, Patna, Saharpada, Banspal, Telkoi, Sadar block, Champua, and Joda. A key component of the initiative is intercropping, which helps farmers diversify their cultivation, improve soil health, and significantly boost their income.

Empowering women remains central to the project’s goals. Through need-based training, institution building, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), women are gaining skills, financial independence, and active roles in economic development. These efforts foster community leadership and sustainability, ensuring that women are key drivers of progress.

Under this project, livelihood interventions such as vegetable cultivation, sustainable agricultural techniques, and backyard poultry farming are transforming rural villages. These initiatives promote economic stability, food security, and environmental conservation, creating opportunities for long-term prosperity.

With ITDA’s support and a strong focus on community-driven development, WOSCA is fostering resilient, self-sufficient tribal communities, ensuring sustainable resource management and long-term livelihood security.
