The OTELP-Plus Project has been a transformative initiative dedicated to uplifting tribal communities in Harichandanpur Block. Since its inception, the project has focused on strengthening livelihoods and ensuring food security, with a special emphasis on empowering poor tribal households through sustainable resource management and enterprise development.

A key aspect of the project is community-driven implementation, where village institutions have been established to lead developmental activities. These institutions have been systematically strengthened through capacity-building programs, ensuring that local members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to drive change.

The project has nurtured self-help groups (SHGs) and village federations, fostering collective growth and financial independence. Livelihood enhancement has been a major focus, involving agricultural modernization, land and water management, financial support to vulnerable families, and vocational training for youth. Additionally, initiatives such as health camps, animal care programs, pisciculture, horticulture, and vegetable farming have diversified income sources and improved community well-being.

Guided by Village Development & Livelihood Plans (VDLPs), the project has implemented extensive land development and irrigation improvements, helping farmers adopt sustainable agricultural practices. These efforts have led to tangible improvements in the economic stability, food security, and overall quality of life for participating households.

With a long-term vision, OTELP-Plus is not just about livelihood enhancement—it is about empowering communities to take charge of their future, ensuring sustained development and resilience for generations to come.
