Livelihood Enhancement of Small and Marginal Farmers Orchard Plantation nurtures climate-resilient livelihoods through dryland horticulture, intercropping and community led stewardship of landscapes.

WOSCA’s Orchard Plantation promotes dryland horticulture as a regenerative solution, combining perennial fruit trees, intercropping, and decentralized irrigation. Across 200+ hectares in Telkoi and Keonjhar Sadar, 424 tribal and marginal households benefit through mango, cashew, and guava plantations with turmeric and vegetable intercropping. 

Supported by MGNREGA and horticulture schemes, borewells, solar pumps, and RCC fencing strengthen infrastructure, while organic inputs and soil conservation boost resilience. Capacity-building has empowered farmers and local institutions with skills in orchard care, climate-smart intercropping, pest management, and documentation. These efforts ensure high survival rates, diversified incomes, and strong community ownership embedding climate adaptation into everyday lives and leadership.
