Inter-Personal – Behavior Communication (IPC) Project

Behavior change communication program (IPC) Project to enhance child survival supported by UNICEF implemented in Banspal, Harichandanpur & Ghatagaon block.

WOSCA impleneted the IPC Programme with the support of UNICEF since 2015 to improve the communication skills of frontline health workers such as ASHA, AWW, and ANM, along with community leaders, on proper infant and young child feeding practices.

The programme encourages early and exclusive breastfeeding, timely complementary feeding, and better maternal and child health through interactive tools and video shows. Regular interface meetings bring together health workers, local leaders, and tribal representatives to remove harmful health practices.

As a result, frontline workers have become more effective at counselling families, communities now have better awareness of nutrition and health, and tribal families have adopted positive behaviours. This has led to improved health outcomes for mothers and children and stronger health systems at the village level.
