Strengthening Women’s Livelihoods through Self-Help Groups in Keonjhar

Women empowerment project through promotion and facilitation of SHGs is implemented in 5 blocks of Keonjhar district with the support of NABARD. 

In Ghatagaon block of Keonjhar district, Odisha , WOSCA facilitated the promotion and strengthening of 50 Self‑Help Groups with the support of NABARD to mobilize women from similar socio‑economic backgrounds and build collective resilience. Over the course of the programme, 100% SHGs were successfully linked with banks, ensuring financial inclusion and access to credit.
Through training on government schemes, rights, and entrepreneurship, members became active in income generation, community development, and social work. These SHGs have grown into platforms for women’s leadership, enabling them to support one another and drive social change in their villages
