WOSCA Managed – UPHC provides accessible, affordable primary healthcare and community outreach to vulnerable urban residents in Barbil Municipality.
WOSCA manages the Urban Primary Health Centre in Nalda, Barbil Municipality, under a Public-Private Partnership with the National Health Mission, expanding primary care access for underserved urban communities.
The UPHC provides outpatient services, maternal and child health care, non-communicable disease screening, telemedicine, diagnostics, and free medicines, prioritizing affordable, inclusive care for vulnerable groups.
In FY 2024–25 the centre recorded 31,595 OPD visits (14,262 male; 17,333 female), 447 telemedicine consultations, and 218 antenatal check-ups under PMSMA, while engaging 1,660 participants in healthawareness activities.
The UPHC dispensed 29,770 free medicines and delivered 15,814 diagnostic services, ensuring essential treatment and investigations reach those most in need.
The UPHC also runs fixed-day immunization sessions, periodic health checkups, and health education programs, leveraging MAS and ASHA networks for community mobilization and sanitation promotion.
Public health measures include malaria chemoprophylaxis for pregnant women in high- risk pockets (per NVBDCP), H2S strip testing for bacteriological water quality with referrals to district laboratories, and coordination with the Public Health Engineering Department for safe water supply and sanitation improvements.
The centre promotes social protection schemes such as RSBY to ensure BPL families receive free treatment for complicated conditions.
