ABOUT CCCD (CHILD CENTRED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT) PROJECT : In partnership with Plan India, WOSCA is implementing CCCD (Child Centred Community Development) project from 2012. Presently WOSCA is working in 47 villages of Ghatgaon block of Keonjhar district with an objective to improve the quality of life of deprived children, their families and the communities. WOSCA Plan is facilitating various programs in the areas of Health, Education, Early Childhood Care, Child Rights & Child Protection, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Livelihood.As Child Sponsorship is one of the key elements of Plan India, WOSCA has been doing sponsorship communication activities and ensuring participation of the Sponsored child & family in Plan's CCCD programs so that they would get benefits out of this. At present the WOSCA is working with 2407case load. ACHIEVEMENTS : Mosquito Net distributed to 9434 families in Ghatgaon block by WOSCA-Plan. Playing Materials distributed to 86 Child Club and 20 Youth Clubs benefiting 2479 children and 1212 youths across 45 villages. Hand WASH Platform constructed with water purifiers in 14 villages and 2512 children have accessed to clean drinking water. 26 Anganwadi centres are supported with water filter. 36 new tube wells have been dug in PU villages with the facilitation of WOSCA plan out of those 7 are with sponsorship fund. Swatch Bharat mission facilitated in 9 villages, 1300 families motivated to keep village clean. 854 individual latrines constructed. Out of them 45% have started using the toilet. 20 WASH Committee formed in 20 location Vegetable cultivation promoted in backyard of 2000 vulnerable families and now adopting as second crop. Nutritional intake improved. MGNREGA facilitated in 58 villages of Ghatgaon block where productive assets i.e. rain water management structures taken up benefitting 6300 families who got 40% additional crop along with wage employments. 246 youths (149 boys, 97 girls) built their employability skill and out of them 113 (41 boys and 72 girls) are employed in formal sector. 865 students (80% Girls & 20% Boys) who appeared class 10th examination supported with JNO stipend for Rs.5, 000/- & Rs.3, 000/- each and resulted 90 % pass out.TLM Kit provided to 2459 Anganwadi centres. There are 79 AWCs in Project areas supported with weighing machine where appropriate weighing of children is being done. 3100 children, 2400 SHGs, 56 elected representatives, 203 teachers and 525 CPC members trained on child rights and they are now visualising the issues and taking up with government for resolution. Adolescent girls trained on life skills, ARSH and with their knowledge 31 child marriage delayed or stopped in Project location. |
