DMF – WADI Development Programme

DMF – WADI Programme is an orchard based livelihood Development Programme being implemented in 500 acres of wasteland of Keonjhar sadar block of Keonjhar covering 509 Mining affected people. The project aims to implement the waste land development same as natural resource management, soil moisture conservation and to support social mobilization effort. There are 10000 mango and 24000 Cashew plants provided to the mining affected people for WADI development. 11 nos. of Village Development Committees have been formed and strengthened to manage WADI in 9 villages of 3 GPs of Keonjhar Sadar block. Apart from the WADI, other development interventions in the areas of environment, gender and health, soil conservation in the wadis, water resource development, agriculture development, women development, financial literacy, skill development and health have been interlaced around the WADI for the overall improvement of the tribal farmers.

  • 760 acres areas have been intercropped by 509 Families.
  • 47 Farmer Groups formed and strengthened.
  • 246 nos. of Capacity building training imparted to 509 families.
  • 24 Awareness meeting conducted for 509 families.
  • Exposure visit provided to 300 families within & outside the State for WADI development.
  • 10 nos. Capacity building training imparted for WADI Project Staff.
  • Total 60230 Man days has been generated for WADI development work.
  • Nutritional Plant provided to 200 families with the support of Horticulture department during COVID-19.
  • Seed support provided to 70 families with the support of Horticulture department during COVID-19.
  • Nutritional Plant provided to 200 families with the support of Horticulture department during COVID-19.
  • 4 water structure (sola lift point) supported by OLIC Keonjhar in Bhaliadihi villag.
