Maternity Waiting Home: Ensuring Safe Motherhood & Institutional Deliveries

To reduce Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) while promoting institutional deliveries, Maternity Waiting Homes (Maa Gruha) have been established. These centers play a crucial role in improving access to quality healthcare, covering women’s health, child health, water, sanitation, hygiene, immunization, and nutrition.

With the support of NHM, WOSCA facilitates Maternity Waiting Homes in Harichandanpur, Revnapalaspal, and Bhagamunda in Keonjhar district. These centers provide free nutritious meals twice a day, breakfast, and recreational facilities, ensuring comfort for expectant mothers. Additionally, they help overcome communication barriers in remote and inaccessible areas, guaranteeing safe institutional deliveries.

By addressing key healthcare challenges and providing a supportive environment, this initiative is transforming maternal and child health outcomes, ensuring safer births and healthier futures for rural communities.
