Program: Child Rights, Women & Youth Empowerment


In context to women and youth empowerment WOSCA since its inception has promoted SHGs and facilitated various training, business plan development to women SHGS on vegetable cultivation, goat rearing and poultry etc. Through various need-based program focus has been made to empower women and turn them as successful entrepreneur in various sustainable livelihood income generating activities so that they can be empowered. Even campaign on violence against women has been observed to create violence free society. Active initiative has been taken by WOSCA to  stop child labour, child marriage and educate the community on the importance of quality education. Organisation has also taken positive measure to strengthen the capacities and leadership of elected women representative through various need-based program. Youth are also empowered  on road safety and traffic rules. In addition many need based vocational trainings are also provided so that they can be self-sustainable

TRESHA (SHA-KNH)

This program gives more emphasis to children and women. Here women are oriented on various issues, policies and schemes related to their socio-economic empowerment to create an environment through positive economic and social policies for their full development to enable them to realize their full potentials and change the societal attitudes and community practices by active participation and involvement of both men and women. Through child right situation analysis by using various tools- like Body Mapping, Picture card, Problem Tree Analysis, Circle of influence and flower of Support the children assess themselves the violation of their rights and privileges This program has also given clear picture - as what the community thinks about their children for their holistic development. In addition to that it has even shown the participation and understanding level of community to feel, react and act for positive development irrespective to health, education, sanitation, women empowerment, infrastructure development etc...

Quality Education for Tribal Children

Access to quality education by the poor tribal children through Joyful learning and nutritional support by SBI – Life In enabling the children to get the formal education WOSCA has used cross cutting strategies so that children get primary education. With its own effort organisation has introduced back to school initiative in around the villages of keonjhar to capture reality of the term “unfinished learning” With its own effort organization has identified Star Academy Learning Centre and introduced back to school initiative for the young and drop out children in Mandua (Dhobadiha) village in Keonjhar district. WOSCA has made individual contact with parents/ family members sensitizing them to send and enroll their children in the learning centre to provide quality learning at free of cost with nutrition tiffin and lunch box.

Facilitating CHILDLINE-1098

With the support of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India WOSCA has been facilitating two CHILDLINE Sub-centres at Banspal and Anandapur block for the children with different needs, who call in anytime, anywhere, and for anything. Those Sub-centres act as one-point contact which facilitates instant access to support, advice, active intervention or just a listening ear

Management Bike Ambulance

Keonjhar block of Keonjhar district presents huge challenges not only for the distribution of health services, but for mothers, children, parents and families to avail transport services. With the support of NHM from 2019, one modified four-stroke motorcycle, which works as a ‘Motor-Bike Ambulance’, is proving to be a boon for the people Harichandanpur block in, bridging the last mile to health care.

Learning Link Corner

This program focuses on traditional language to motivate the community people toward primary education and retaining year old tradition in the education system. WOSCA has been facilitating Multi Lingual Education in schools of Keonjhar blocks (Joda, Jhumpur and Champua) so that children begin their education in mother tongue and respect their linguistic diversity with effective learning environment.

Strengthening capacities and leadership of women representatives

To create enabling environments for the safe and productive participation of women and underserved populations in electoral processes in Harichandanpur and Banspal block of Keonjhar, WOSCA has been facilitating knowledge and awareness among Elected women representatives (EWRs) and voters on these topics through knowledge-based workshops.

Child Centered Community Development

In partnership with Plan India, WOSCA is implementing CCCD (Child Centred Community Development) project from 2012. Presently WOSCA is working in 47 villages of Ghatgaon block of Keonjhar district with an objective to improve the quality of life of deprived children, their families and the communities.

Combating-Child-Domestic-Labor

WOSCA has commenced in July 2016 a three year intervention to combat child domestic labour in Keonjhar district, to prevent and rehabilitated child domestic labour with the support of Plan India to address the root causes of worst forms of child labour through mainstreaming education for children and economic empowerment of families of children.
